Summer of 2007: work crew at Young Life’s Frontier Ranch; when I first felt the Lord nudging me to pursue Young Life camping for a lifetime. Sounded cool at the time but I was a measly 16 years old. [beginning of a dream]

Every summer of college: took high school girls to camp to hear the Gospel and saw why I love Young Life camping: it provides a place where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is presented so very clearly. [reinforcement of a dream]

February 2012: call from a 970 number — that is the area code of Fraser, Colorado — home of Crooked Creek Ranch — it was man named Stu on the other end offering me an internship. YES! HECK YES! [continuing the dream]

February 2013: Some how, some way the Lord softened my heart to want to apply for the job as Crooked Creek Ranch’s bookkeeper. I got to be the bookkeeper there for over 3 years. YAHOO!! [living the dream]

January 9, 2016:  I stood in a conference room with all of my friends and was offered a new job that none of my friends even knew I had applied for. Young Life’s Wilderness Ranch had become the new dream. Intimate community; backpacking; discipleship; summers in Colorado; winters in Texas. [still living the dream]
